In the Accounting team, you will work to prepare and communicate to internal and external partners the actual financial results from operations including revenue earned, rights holder royalties and organizational expenses incurred. The Accounting team is not only the owner of all actual results, but also closely collaborates with our business partners to develop scalable processes and to advise on accounting implications of potential transactions. The role will give you the opportunity to see the “Language of Business” at work in the real world.

-Support the daily operational and financial close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financials in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements, and local regulatory guidelines.

-Understand basic accounting concepts, processes and systems to support the Company’s product and business strategies.

-Participate in the implementation of best practices, creating and communicating policies, and leading the daily operations, frameworks, and processes to cross functional teams to scale our operations and achieve key operational metrics.

Support continuous finance systems implementation and enhancement testings to help drive key systems initiatives and improvements.

Internal Audit works alongside our Spotify teams and helps them effectively navigate business and technology risks as they achieve their business objectives. Internal Audit develops an understanding of our core business processes and how our technology infrastructure enables us to scale Spotify to over 300M users worldwide. We run the Sarbarnes-Oxley (SOX) controls framework and our enterprise management risk program, and we also perform a variety of assurance and advisory projects to identify unmitigated risks and improvement opportunities across the organization.

Support process owners with their SOX documentation, performing walkthroughs, and executing internal controls testing.

Participate in operational and IT audits including risk assessment, execution, and post-remediation validation.

Participate in risk assessment interviews and assist in the identification of high-risk areas and the development of dynamic audit plans.

Understand the businesses you are auditing including their strategy, product lifecycle, associated business processes, technology, and related regulatory requirements.

Build subject matter expertise in our different business processes and stay up to date on technological developments.

As an apprentice with Treasury, you will work in different functional areas within the team. This involves asset and currency management, financial risks & controls, and cash management. Using a technology platform supporting the business with a lean payments and account infrastructure, we work closely with both internal partners and global banks.

Supporting Spotify’s banking footprint by facilitating account openings/closings and handling banking and fraud protection services.

Running system and user access across a range of banking and financial platforms

Create and review reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to internal and external partners

Supporting continuous finance systems configuration and integration testing, including working with repetitive process automation (RPA)
Supporting planning & analysis, continuous improvement and the management of large, global projects.
